Overview
Description
Paired Math (MATH 0099P) is a 3-hour noncredit course designed to provide motivated students the opportunity to progress through both MATH 0099 and MATH 1111 (College Algebra) in a single semester. Students must be enrolled in both MATH 0099P and MATH 1111.
Paired Math should be viewed as supplemental, just-in-time support to help students succeed in MATH 1111. It differs from a regular MATH 0099 class in several ways: 1) The class is coupled with a credit course and immediately follows it on the schedule, and students will be completing all the assignments of the MATH 1111 class; 2) The course is structured to meet the math needs of individual students; and 3) Students will not be required to take the COMPASS algebra exit exam to receive credit for MATH 0099P.
Students eligible for MATH 0099P must have a B or higher in MATH 0097 or a minimum score of 33 on the COMPASS algebra. Exceptions to these requirements must be approved by the Director of Learning Support.
