As of July 1, 2020, the U.S. Department of Education implemented new regulations that professional nursing programs (PN, RN and APRN) make public that the professional nursing curriculum meets or does not meet educational requirements for practice outside the state where the education was obtained.

Within the United States, each pre-licensure nursing program must meet educational requirements set forth by its individual state’s board of nursing. The NCLEX exam is a national licensing exam. Graduates of pre-licensure nursing programs are required to successfully pass the NCLEX exam to obtain licensure. Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College’s Associate of Science in Nursing program is approved by the Georgia State Board of Nursing and meets the necessary requirements for taking the NCLEX-RN exam and obtaining licensure in the state of Georgia as a Professional Registered Nurse.

To learn more about the requirements for licensure in each state, visit National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. (NCSBN).
