Course Description
Prerequisite(s): ENGL 1102 or ENGL 1102H, and HIST 2111 or HIST 2111H or HIST 2112 or HIST 2112H, with a minimum grade of C. This course is an examination of American women?s history, focusing on everyday concerns as well as women?s contributions and achievements, including political activism, work, marriage, family, sexuality, reproduction, and education. This course also examines the social and political forces that have aided or blocked change in women?s roles in American society. Particular attention is paid to how different women experienced America in regards to, class, region, religion, and ethnicity.
