Fiction Writing

Pre-requisites: ENGL 1102 with a "C" or better. (ENGL 2401 is recommended.) A writing course in which students will produce original fiction in the form of the literary short story. Instruction and guidance in processes of fiction writing will include the stages of invention, drafting, workshopping, and revising. Avenues toward publication will be discussed. Students will study contemporary short story models and will perform craft analysis on those models.
