Overview
Description
This course is designed to offer students an opportunity to gain practical work experience in a field related to their career interests. Freshmen Experiential Learning courses require a student to participate in a work-related experience at an approved site while also completing related assignments/experiences overseen and specified by a faculty member. Students and the employer/supervisor must complete additional paperwork as part of the FEL process, to include a project plan that details students’ goals, work hours, and responsibilities; a summative evaluation by the supervisor; and experiential reports and a presentation from students. Students in a one-hour FEL are expected to work a minimum of 45 hours. Students in a three-hour FEL are expected to work a minimum of 135 hours.
