Program Description

The Psychology track of the Rural Community Development major prepares students for a wide range of professional careers that emphasize the importance of working with and understanding people including those in behavioral and mental health, human and social services, and community services. It also prepares students for graduate study in psychology, social work, human services among others. Students will learn foundational psychological principles, methods, and theories needed to support and address mental health and related issues experienced in rural communities and beyond.

Students in other majors may also earn a Minor in Rural Community Development.
