Course Description
Prerequisite(s): ENGL 1101, ENGL 1102, and POLS 1101 with a minimum grade of C. This course examines the nature and purpose of law, legal interpretations, obligation to obey the law, and foundations of legal authority. Focus is given to major schools of jurisprudence, such as legal positivism and natural law theory, with emphasis on classic and contemporary issues in legal political philosophy such as justice, equality under the law, and the relationship between law and morality.
