Prerequisite(s): Honors Program membership. A survey of United States history to the post-Civil War period. This course covers the major social, economic, political, and cultural issues which accompanied the development of American life from pre-Columbian beginnings to Reconstruction. A particular Emphasis is placed on the role of Georgia in the development of the nation. This course satisfies state law requiring examination on Georgia and United States history. Credit toward graduation not allowed for HIST 2111 and HIST 2111H.
