An ABAC Minor is the official acknowledgement of courses a student will undertake to declare a secondary discipline before graduation. A minor is designed for students who would like to supplement their major coursework with additional classes that will augment and broaden the student’s college experience. Completing a minor would provide a strategic advantage in terms of employment marketability and career preparation which may include graduate or professional school.
Students may earn a minor in discipline areas where majors are offered at the bachelor’s level if they complete the required 15 to 18 semester hours of coursework, nine semester hours of which must be 3000- or 4000-level courses. A minor may be earned simultaneously with or subsequently to earning a bachelor degree. Courses taken in Core Areas A through E cannot count as course work in the minor.
